Davis Islands Pot Bust
The whole family at 602 Oconee Avenue has been arrested for manufacture and possession of the wacky weed.
From the City of Tampa News & Public Notices:
A concerned citizen sent an e-mail to the City of Tampa suggesting something was going on at the home. Detective Mark Detrio obtained a warrant to search the Davis Island home. Inside, detectives found 5 small marijuana trees growing in 15 year old Matthew Meserole’s bedroom. His mother, Beverly Smoak, and 18 year old brother, Eric Meserole, confessed they knew Matthew was growing marijuana in his closet. Officers arrested Matthew at Plant High School, where he’s a student, and found more marijuana in his front right pocket. He admitted to smoking marijuana at home with his mother on several occasions.

Suspect 2: Mark Shein DOB: 8/1/44, W/M, 602 Oconee Avenue, Tampa
Charges: Manufacture of Cannabis, Possession of Cannabis <20grams and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Suspect 3: Eric Meserole DOB: 1/10/89, W/M, 602 Oconee Avenue, Tampa
Charges: Manufacture of Cannabis, Possession of Cannabis <20grams and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Suspect 4: Matthew Meserole DOB: 9/12/91, W/M, 602 Oconee Avenue, Tampa
Charges: Manufacture of Cannabis, Possession of Cannabis <20grams (2 counts) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (no mug shot available).

This story really pisses me off because the T.P.D. wasted around $100k of our tax dollars for what? a few grams of pot.
I also have a really hard time beliveing a 15 yr old kid could grow any pot with any success in a closet. So whats up with the manufacuring charge? i read the kid only had 4 plants less than a inch tall (whoopie)
