It's a jewel that needs to be preserved in it's "Mayberry" feeling which thousands of people agreed was their love of it! Our children were young at the time, and the relocation to Davis Islands meant that they could attend Gorrie, Wilson and Plant, and avoid being bused. At the time it was a tremendous sacrifice as our house payment jumped about $500 a month (1978), but we didn't regret it a moment as they gained invaluable learning that has served them well through life.
