4th Annual Climb Tampa!

Monday, November 17th, 2008
March 21, 2009
7:00 am

From Climb Tampa:

Join us for one of the most unique events in Tampa Bay. On March 21, 2009, hundreds of people will huff and puff their way climbing the 42 flights in the Bank of America Plaza in downtown Tampa. This is more than your same old 5K this event is a vertical race to climb 42 floors/914 steps. Whether climbing for a winning time or simply to cross the finish line in honor or in memory of someone with lung disease, this event is a great way to challenge yourself physically. We guarantee that all finishers will have a newfound respect for healthy lungs!

All proceeds benefit the American Lung Association for lung cancer research, education, and prevention programs. Many do not realize that lung cancer is still the number one cancer killer in both men and women.

RMH Yard Sale

November 8, 2008
9:00 amto12:00 pm

The employees at International Plaza’s Banana Republic have been making meals and doing pantry drives for the Davis Islands Ronald McDonald House, but wanted to do something on a larger scale. They decided to hold a yard sale as a fundraiser, and just needed the right location. The Davis Islands Ronald McDonald House has a beautiful large yard, perfect for their yard sale, now scheduled for Saturday, November 8 from 9am – noon.

Store employees and house volunteers will clean out their closets and bring their treasures to the sale, and along with leftover items from the House and a few surprises. A good crowd is expected with some great deals for everyone. The public is invited to join us and find some bargains while raising funds for the Ronald McDonald House program.

For more information, contact Tampa RMH House Manager Betsy Wilkinson at (813) 254-2398, ext. 316 or email bwrmh[at]tampabay.rr.com.

September 26, 2007
6:00 pmto9:00 pm

From our friends at Tampa General Hospital:

Hyde Park Village Live Music Series to benefit TGH Foundation

Twenty years ago, the Hyde Park Village Live Music Series launched and has been a popular gathering ever since. These free concerts, held near the beautiful fountain of Hyde Park Village in South Tampa are held the last Wednesday of the month from March through October. Each month, the concert’s refreshment sales benefit a different Bay area charity.

The September series will benefit the Tampa General Hospital’s Healing Garden to be held Wednesday. September 26, from 6pm – 9pm. Music will be performed by The Nate Najar Trio, including classical guitar; creating swinging jazz sounds, blues and Brazilian styles. Admission is free, $3 beers will be available. Hyde Park Village is located at 742 S. Village Circle in Tampa. For directions, go to www.hydeparkvillage.net

The proceeds will be earmarked for the Healing Garden, which will be located on the 4th floor of the new Bayshore Pavilion – currently under construction at TGH. The rooftop courtyard on this floor will be turned into a garden, providing outdoor space for patients and families in the Women’s Center, as well as beautiful views for patient rooms located on the interior.

The Tampa General Hospital Foundation is a private, not-for-profit corporation and a qualified charitable organization under section 501 ( c ) of the Internal Revenue Code. The Foundation’s sole focus is to support the programs and services of Tampa General Hospital. Robin DeLaVergne serves as the Foundation’s Executive Director.
